The truth behind the Genoshan civil war revealed! But can Cable, Domino and their unlikely allies bring an end to the fighting before it's too late!

The Magistrates have attacked the Genoshan rebels. Cable captures Pipeline and the Magistrate takes them to a secluded part of the island that has been off-limits. The rebels find that the Genegineer may not have been the one solely in charge of the mutate process.

    Synopsis

With the Genoshan Magistrates insides the rebels' Safehaven, a fight breaks out. Cable doesn't like it, as it's too close of quarters and the rebels are being taken out far too easily. After saving Phillip Moreau, Cable tosses a smoke grenade that buys the rebels some time to regroup. Knowing that Pipeline is the Magistrate that will teleport his team out, Cable scrambles his power so that Pipeline is the lone Magistrate left after the fight. Cable takes Pipeline prisoner.

In the aftermath, Phillip wants to take the fight to the Magistrates to try and finish them off. Cable has a better idea but asks for a little more background regarding the rebel troupe. Phillip and Jennifer Ransome explain that a man named Essex has been giving them information regarding the real source of power in Genosha. Cable thinks the name Essex should mean something to him.

Elsewhere on Genosha, the Sugarman sees that he is about to be revealed and prepares for a confrontation.

Back at Safehaven, Cable asks Pipeline to help the rebels. He refuses and spews how he longs for things to return to how they once were. Having no other option, Cable co-opts Pipeline's mind and forces him to teleport a small group to coordinates on Genosha.

Cable, Domino, Pipeline, Phillip, and Jennifer all arrive at the Ridgeback Mountains. Phillip can't believe that this location could house the answers to the toppling of the Genoshan government, as this is a simple camping spot his father brought him to as a kid. But sure enough, he gets a strong energy reading from the top of one of the mountain peaks. The group scales the mountain and finds a passage into the mountainside. Inside Cable feels like they are being watched. Essex (or Mr. Sinister) hides in the shadows, pleased that they made it.

Further in, Phillip is surprised to find machinery advanced far beyond anything his father had. Even Pipeline must admit that he is shocked that anything so advanced would be allowed to be omitted from any datalogs he has.

Sugarman prepares to meet the group.
